IoTerop Defining the OMA LwM2M 1.1 Specification

1 Minute Read

IoTerop, a board member of the Open Mobile Alliance SpecWorks (OMA) device management working group, is a key contributor to the OMA Lightweight M2M 1.1 specification. The team is working tirelessly to define both the LwM2M standard and also evangelize the standard’s necessity, specifically regarding low-power WAN technologies like NB-IoT and LoRa.

Thanks to IoTerop’s partnership with Kerlink, a founder and LoRa Alliance board member, IoTerop remains the first and only company to successfully show LwM2M device management capabilities deploying firmware updates (FOTA) over LoRaWAN.

“This real-life device management with firmware-over-the-air updates (FOTA) provides us with a unique perspective to help contribute to the LwM2M 1.1 standard. This standard will empower billions of devices,” says David Navarro, IoTerop’s Chief Product Officer.

IoTerop will be attending the OMA TestFest in Seoul on July 9-12, 2018. The team, once again with other IoT industry actors, will test and display IoTerop’s IOWA, an industrial-grade IoT stack based on the LwM2M/IPSO standard, assuring industry-wide interoperability.

IoTerop’s IOWA and SensorHub products allow organizations to easily integrate secure device management capabilities based on current and future LwM2M standards throughout their IoT environments.

By using LwM2M 1.0 and 1.1 compliant IoT devices, gateways, and IoT applications, organizations guarantee they will never be locked into dead-end technologies or vendors with their IoT investments to remain portable, secure, and future-proof.
