IOTEROP NEWSLETTER Q4 2020

2020 in Review

As 2020 ends, IoTerop’s first thoughts go out to those who suffered loss in 2020. Covid-19’s destructive path cost lives, savaging economies, and livelihoods along the way.

Covid-19 is a solemn reminder of how fragile our world is. Think about 2020’s tipping point. A virus, so small we can’t see it with the naked eye, marked the world and generations to come.

But we take heart knowing that just as the forest burns, new growth conditions are created with life springing forth. This analogy illustrates both the world’s challenging opportunity but, at another level, IoTerop’s perspective as we look toward 2021.

Covid-19 made 2020 a challenging year for IoTerop. And yet, we met the challenge. Our team today is bigger and stronger than ever.

In 2020, we also saw encouraging signs of IoT market maturity. There is an increasing appreciation for how device management and standards like Lightweight M2M cut costs and support strategic objectives.

We remain convinced IoT has a critical role in helping the world address so many of these challenges. In 2020, populations benefited from IoT enabled social distancing, while the most resilient companies were often those who relied the most on IoT enabled processes and supply chains.

In the next few years, Australia will see the adoption of nearly ten million smart water meters using LwM2M and NB-IoT to help manage water on the world’s driest inhabited continent.

Our customers and partners, like us, are optimistic. Over the course of 2020, IoTerop worked hard to create strategic offerings, many of which we’ll get to announce in 2021.

Speaking of 2021. We’d like to invite you all to attend our webinar Cellular IoT for Smart City: An Evolving Landscape on January 19th with content partners Itron, Transforma Insights, and 1nce.

And with that, we wish you a very happy, safe holiday season with the hope that 2021 brings the best to all our customers, partners, friends, employees, and family.
