IoTerop Announces its Commitment and Entrance into the Australian and New Zealand IoT Market

April 14, 2022 – Sydney, Australia – IoTerop, a leading IoT device management software company, has announced today its entrance into the Australian and New Zealand markets with the addition of Alexander Katsoulis as Sales Director of Australia and New Zealand. Since 2016, IoTerop has provided products that allow utilities, smart city solution providersand IoT device manufacturers to benefit from rapid access to IoT connectivity and device management, thanks to its cloud-based IoT device management platform and software development kit.

Australia and New Zealand – A Maturing IoT Market

Due to Australia and New Zealand’s unique geographical characteristics, the adoption of Narrowband Internet of Things (NB-IoT) and Long-Term Evolution for Machines (LTE-M) technologies have increased exponentially in the past few years. The LwM2M protocol enables NB-IoT and LTE-M connectivity and allows IoT devices to be connected and remotely monitored and controlled. Although broadly deployed in diverse IoT verticals, LWM2M has been especially appreciated by smart water, gas, and electricity meter vendors and utilities in Australia and New Zealand, largely due to its efficiency with resource-constrained devices. As smart meters are installed underground, inaccessible, or costly to reach, LwM2M allows these devices to be controlled, updated, and secured remotely throughout their lifecycles. This holistic device management offer is especially important for smart meters, which can stay on the field for over 20 years.

“We have seen the promise and maturity that ANZ’s IoT market has shown in the past few years. We are eager to partner with more utility companies, device manufacturers and IoT innovators to adopt a resilient, low power IoT device management solution based on open standards. IoTerop’s LwM2M-based products assure longevity, lower power consumption and vendor interoperability while allowing secure remote monitoring and control,” says Hatem Oueslati, CEO of IoTerop.

IoTerop Welcomes Alexander Katsoulis as a Local Liaison in ANZ

Alexander Katsoulis joins IoTerop with a long history of success in embedded hardware and software. He facilitated the early adoption of NB-IoT and LTE-M technologies across ANZ, closely collaborating with customers and mobile network operators. His addition to IoTerop’s presence in Australia and New Zealand will enable a robust partnership approach with customers, leveraging the appropriate resources for a swift product development cycle.

Alexander Katsoulis comments: “Our ALASKA cloud-based device management platform and IOWA device SDK are key in helping our customers develop and deploy IoT devices quickly and easily. I am proud to be a part of this expansion and am eager to contribute further to our customers’ success and IoTerop’s growth in the region.”
